What to do when your Frenchie’s having a dry nose?
Well, it’s very important for a dog to have a moderately wet nose. However, Nasal Hyperkeratosis is one of the most common problems that affect French Bulldogs. It’s an idiopathic condition where Frenchie’s body produces too much keratin. Besides this known fact, the main root of suffering from this kind of condition is still not completely discovered. Different types of allergies make problems not only to a Frenchie’s skin but also to its nose. There is seasonal, food and contact type of allergies and all three may affect sensitive Frenchie’s nose.
How to deal with boring crusts?
In order to prevent this boring issue, we recommend you to buy a nose butter that will soothe your Frenchie’s skin. In dealing with this kind of issue you may use Olive oil, Castrol oil, Coconut oil, and Shea butter. These 4 ingredients perfectly absorb moisture so your French Bulldog’s nose may show improvement on only a few days. Using of Nose Balm or a mix of previously mentioned ingredients should be applied 3 times a day.
After a few days, you will notice that the scabs have begun to fall off. However, it doesn’t mean you should stop using a nose bam or oils. You should continue to apply these products to your dog’s nose at least twice a week to prevent it from dryness.
Nose breathing problems
It’s nothing odd to see a French Bulldog’s breathing through its mouth. However, their elongated soft palate may develop some serious breathing issues if not checked on time. French Bulldogs and other bull breeds often suffer from Brachycephalic Respiratory Syndrome, so it’s advisable to check their heart and lungs every year.
