What is a blue French bulldog?
Blue French bulldog is famous for its bluish-colored fur that is also known as mouse or grey. Blue Frenchie is like any other Frenchie, however, it got such color thanks to the dilute recessive gene. Unlike other dogs that progressively get the grey color of fur, Blue French bulldog are born like that.
The American Kennel Club doesn’t approve blue Frenchies because earlier in the history they were being inbred with other blue-related canines. It is one of the reasons why they are not considered for pure-blood French bulldogs.
Another reason was that the first litters of blue Frenchies showed certain health issues such as Alopecia. Nowadays, the gene pool is large enough to select completely healthy Blue French bulldogs that have been cleared from all hereditary health issues. That’s why is extremely important to buy a puppy from a reputable breeder. He/she needs to assure you that the puppy you want to buy is completely healthy and that the pup has passed all the health checks.

How to take care of a Blue French bulldog?
When we talk about taking care of the Blue Frenchie, it includes providing a well-balanced diet, regular grooming, and cleaning.
Since Frenchies are notorious for their tendency to show allergy on different ingredients such as artificial ingredients, soy, corn, by-products, and eggs, I advise switching to BARF diet for French bulldogs. It includes feeding a dog with raw ingredients such as fresh veggies, fruits, and raw meat. In that way, you’ll be the only one who’ll control what food your Frenchie eats.
Regular grooming presents another important part of dog ownership. Luckily, Frenchies don’t shed much so you can brush his/her fur once a week. I advise you to use the following brush glove because it’s suitable for reaching all the places on your Frenchie’s body such as armpits.
Another care basics you need to pay attention is cleaning the tear stains. Tear stain production can be triggered by genetics and different environmental allergens that can lead to excessive itching and rubbing the eyes onto the floor. The following Tear Stain Remover is antibacterial and will not make any irritations in your furry gremlin.
Choosing the right shampoo for your blue French bulldog might sound challenging, especially because of their sensitive skin. That’s why I advise you to take a look at the following Frenchie World Bath Salt that is available in 3 fragrances and it’s specially created for the French bulldog breed. The salt will keep your dog’s fur smooth and shiny and it will not sting the eyes
Don’t forget on regularly soothing you four-legged friend’s paw pads. Walking outside on hot pavements, sharp terrains, and chemicals can cause injuries in your dog’s paws, so that’s why I advise you to soothe them by using Frenchie World Paw Balm. It is rich in propolis, sweet almond oil, grapeseed oil, and other natural ingredients.
Stomach flatulence and gasses are very common occurrences in the French bulldog breed. That’s why I recommend you to buy a feeding bowl that will prevent him/her from choking and fast eating. The following feeding bowl has a special rotating bone inside if the plate that will prolong your dog’s meal and will make him/her work for his/her food.
In order to prevent your blue French bulldog from having paw issues with ingrown nails, you need to regularly trim them. Indeed, dogs don’t get so thrilled when it comes the time for trimming, however, you can relax him/her by previously feeding him with his favorite snacks. The following Dog Pedicure is completely harmless and made not to make any unpleasant feeling while trimming the nail.
Don’t forget to prevent your blue French bulldog from overheating. They can easily get a heat stroke if spend a lot of time outside during the hottest part of the day. My advice is to keep your Frenchie in an air-conditioned room and to take him for a stroll only early in the morning and late in the evening.
Buying a self-cooling mat can also help a lot ’cause it decreases your dog’s body temperatures in only a few minutes. It is filled with a cooling gel and should be kept on a dark and cool place in your home. Click here to check what other cooling items you can buy for your little gremlin.
